Sherry Rehman Saturday said health is one of the top priorities for Pakistan People’s Party.

Giving a briefing during her visit to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre here, she said the government will enhance budget allocation for health besides steps will be taken for provision of improved health care facilities to the people.

“Unfortunately the health sector was ignored badly in the past but it is effort of the present government to carry out maximum work towards improvement of this sector so that better health care facilities could be made available in government hospitals,” Sherry Rehman said.

Better health care is the basic right of the people, therefore, government hospitals will be upgraded with modern facilities besides special attention will be directed towards health care of people in rural areas, she vowed.

On the occasion, the hospital administration, provided the details of Medical Towers Project to the Federal Minister for Information.

Meanwhile, the laid down contractual doctors of the hospital also briefed the Minister about their problems.
