By-elections schedule announced, polling to be held on June 3
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has announced schedule of by-elections for vacant seats of National and Provincial Assemblies.
Polling for 6 NA and 22 Provincial assembly seats will be held on June 3.
Addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Chief Election Commissioner Justice ® Qazi Farooq said that nomination papers would be issued from April 16 for by-elections and the same could be submitted till April 21 Nomination papers will be scrutinized between April 22 to 28 while the final list of candidates was expected to be issued by May 12.
He said election campaign by candidates would end on June 1. Qazi Farooq praised political parties for extending cooperation in holding general election 2008 in a best possible manner
